Marx Honored as 2024 Homecare Champion
Joel Marx was honored as the 2024 Van Miller Homecare Champion in recognition of his determined advocacy efforts, successful leadership as Chairman of AAHomecare and OAMES, and distinguished service across a range of other HME and healthcare industry councils and boards.
Marx has held various roles within the home medical equipment association environment with tenacity, incredible drive, and generosity of time. He is a strong leader who has been appointed to various boards and committees of both state and national medical equipment service and hospice organizations including his AAHomecare and OAMES ledership stints, as chair of AAHomcare's Home Medical Equipment/Respiratory Therapy Council, and as a governor-appointed Board Member of the Ohio Respiratory Care Board.
Marx was a strong advocate for halting and fixing the flawed competitive bidding systems for HME, testifying to the Ways and Means Committee, participating in numerous meetings with members of Congress, and participating in media interviews to help the home medical equipment community educate lawmakers at a critical juncture of the bidding program.
“Joel exudes passion, leadership, and a collaborative nature,” notes Tom Ryan, AAHomecare president & CEO. “He has served in varying levels of leadership, providing clear insight into the direction the HME industry should be headed and understanding of how to get there. He is willing to take a stand for patients and colleagues and I am honored to call him a friend. I look forward to recognizing him with this prestigious award.”
