The Medical Supplies Council actively works on issues of importance to the non-durable supplies space as well as industry-wide priorities.
In the scope of patient care, disposable supplies are critical. We are grateful to have industry leading providers that can dispense things like Incontinence, Ostomy, urological, woundcare and other supplies. These types of products and services require specific documentation and utilization support. It is imperative that the beneficiaries have access to these items, and they are dispensed in a timely manner. Through a combined focus on advocacy initiatives (legislative and regulatory) and operational practices, Council members are able to advance priorities for the products that directly impact their daily activities and long-term strategic planning.
Through council-wide discussions and targeted Work Group activities, the Council tackles an impressive workload of Council goals each year while advising the Board of Directors, other AAHomecare Councils, and vested stakeholders on priority needs.
Recent areas of focus include but are not limited to:
- Develop educational advocacy resources to address cost increases across product categories
- Develop white paper on enteral nutrition and supplies market dynamics
- Support efforts to address supplies denials from Part A episodes, sales tax initiatives, and more!
All AAHomecare members are welcome to join the Medical Supplies Council, which is comprised of a diverse makeup of members spanning the entire country of various sizes, including suppliers,
