I am reaching our to ask that Representative _______________ speak in favor of important legislation at the January 8 Energy & Commerce Health Subcomittee Hearing: Legislative Proposals to Support Patient Access to Medicare Services.

  • H.R. 2005, the DMEPOS Relief Act of 2025 provides a 75/25 blended Medicare reimbursement rate in non-rural, non-competitive bidding areas for DME items. Congress previosuly provided relief in the 2020 CARES Act and 2022 Omnibus bill, and it critically needed to help DME providers keep pace with rising product and operational costs.  AAH Issue Brief

H.R. 1703, the Choices for Increased Mobility Act of 2025 would allow Medicare beneficiaries to access manual wheelchairs constructed with carbon fiber and titanium materials, with minimal government financial commitment.  Individuals with disabilities should have the right to choose and cover the costs of specialized materials for their wheelchair. Restoring this option would not remove medical necessity requirements for the wheelchair itself and
would not result in any additional costs to Medicare. AAH Issue Brief
  • H.R. 2902, Supplemental Oxygen Access Reform (SOAR) Act of 2025 would remove all oxygen services and equipment from the DMEPOS competitive bidding program and create a new reimbursement system for this benefit based on current payment rates so that people can access the appropriate oxygen delivery system.  Multi-stakeholder letter in support HR 2902 and Senate companion bill

You can also attach the related issue briefs or multi-stakeholder letter with your email.

You should keep your message simple and to-the-point.

Note: this is not a mark-up session; the Health Subcommittee will not be voting on these measures on Jan. 8.  We will share more resources on building grassroots support for these bills in the coming weeks.
